MeetOur Chef

Juan A. Montero is the restaurant’s Executive Chef; he has 18+ years of experience in the food service industry. He was born and raised in Havana, Cuba where he received his Culinary Degree. He inherited a passion for food from his parents. His culinary career began at Trattoria Marakas in Havana at a very early age where he learned how to make pizza and various Italian dishes from an Italian Chef. After his skills were honed and developed he later owned a local pizzeria until he decided to migrate to the US. Itching to pave his own American dream, he got himself two partners and decided to open Marakas Pizza in 2014.
